2020 NOTICE OF RACE

2020 HOMEPORT REGATTA 

Presented by Vintage Marina Partners, and Homeport Regatta Sailing 
   
NOTICE OF RACE

1. RULES

The regatta will be governed by the rules as

defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. This is

intended to be a fun race day on the water; no

contact! This will be a Pursuit Race; all

handicaps will be assigned by the race

committee. Individual boat start times will be

available at the Skipper’s Meeting starting at

0830 on June 13, 2020 at the party platforms

located at Channel Islands Marina, J Dock.

2. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

The regatta is open to all Cruising Boats and

Live-Aboards in good standing berthed

in Ventura County. Eligible boats may enter by

completing the Entry Form and Application

available at the Vintage Marina Partners or

Channel Islands Marina Offices and sending it,

together with the required entry fee,

application and entry forms (including proof of

current insurance) to the Vintage Marina

Partners (attention Homeport Regatta) offices

by April 30, 2019.    Please take note that no

entries will be accepted after June 10, 2020.

3. FEES

$40 per entry, paid no later than 6/10/2020.

Make entry fee checks payable to “Homeport

Regatta Sailing.”

4. SCHEDULE

The scheduled time of the warning signal for

the race is 10:54 am, first start at 11:00 am,

on 6/13/2020.

5. THE COURSE

The final course will be one of several

described in the Sailing Instructions and the

decision as to which course will be sailed will

be made on the date of the race and

announced at the Skippers Meeting.  The race

will start outside Channel Islands Harbor

Breakwater and finish inside the Channel

Islands Harbor Breakwater as described in the

Sailing Instructions. 

6. RADIO COMMUNICATION

Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither

make radio transmissions while racing nor

receive radio communications not available to

all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile

telephones. All Race Communication will be on

VHF Channel 72.   

7. PRIZES

Prizes will be given depending on number of

entries at the after race dock party which will

commence at 6:00 p.m. at the Race

Headquarters in Channel Islands Harbor –

under the tents located on the party platforms

located at Channel Islands Marina, J Dock. 

8. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely

at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race.

The organizing authority will not accept any

liability for material damage or personal injury

or death sustained in conjunction with or prior

to, during, or after the regatta.    

9. INSURANCE

Each boat shall be insured with valid third

party liability insurance.  No entry will be

accepted without proof of insurance attached

to the race entry application.

11.  SLIPS FOR VENTURA HARBOR BOATS

Slips will be available for boats coming from

Ventura Harbor on a first-come-first served

basis with full payment of entry fee and proof

of insurance.
